TRGA Technology 2: Somax Power Hip Trainer

So, the next time you're at the doctor's office and stuck with reading old issues of Popular Science while waiting for your test results, why not break out your Somax Power Hip Trainer as the fellow on the left has done. Also, when you injure yourself while strapped to this device, you'll have the advantage of getting immediate medical attention.

Click on the photo to watch a well-produced video demonstrating the wonders of the Somax Power Hip Trainer. Rumor has it that they're currently in negotiations with Latin pop star Shakira to promote their product worldwide.

Gettin' Pearl Rivered

So, the Golden Moon and Silver Star will have a new table game based on Texas Hold 'Em and carrying the World Poker Tour logo waiting for us when we arrive in Choctaw, Mississippi in May. Evidently, they weren't satisfied with the amount of money I gave them last year.

Read about the game by clicking on the image above.

Read the original press release HERE.

TRGA Technology I: The Hammer

Let's try to overlook the fact that this goober appears to be wearing black blue jeans on the golf course and focus on the driver he's touting on 3 a.m. infomercials on The Golf Channel.

Click on Jack Hamm's frosted mullet above to go to his website for The Zolex Hammer. My God, the video is awesome! I'm wondering if that's the same announcer that does radio spots for those monster truck rallies?

For just 99 bones we can all get our hands on some sweet G-Force technology! Order one today and you'll get a 3-wood and a book on how to be a Range Pro! For a limited time, I think you can get a Zolex Hammer Putter too, but those might all be gone by the time you visit the site.

While you're waiting for your goodies to arrive, watch for Part 2 in the TRGA Technology series.

TRGA Essential Films: The Proposition

It's the story of three outlaw brothers and the British colonial lawman trying to bring them to justice and civilize the Australian outback circa the late 1800s. It's a brutally violent and fly-infested flick. Seriously, there are flies everywhere in this morality tale of honor among thieves and dishonor among the civilized. It's also different from any western you've ever seen. As gruesome as the film is in parts, it's equally beautiful in others.
Do yourself a favor. Rent it, send the wife and kids to bed, and watch it with your favorite drink in hand.
Click on the image above to watch the trailer for The Proposition.

Speaking of New Equipment,

if you're looking to trade-up this year, you need to visit the PGA.com Value Guide. You may already be aware of it, but it's like the Kelley Blue Book for golf clubs. See what your sticks are worth by clicking on the banner above.

By the way,

anybody showing up for the 2007 TRGA Classic with one of these gets 3 points knocked off their handicap index.

If You're Not Using This Yet, You Should Be

golf865.com and golf615.com, the sources for deeply discounted tee times in Knoxville and Nashville respectively have changed to GolfNow.com.

Check it out before your next round. Seriously.

I've used golf512.com here in Austin, and I recently paid $22 to play a local muni that would have cost me $34 for a weekday round.

Welcome, Fellow Train Robbers!

That's right, the Train Robbers Golf Association has now entered the blogosphere. I plan to update this more regularly than I have the trainrobbersgolf.com news page, so check back here often for the latest rumblings in the world of the TRGA.

For our first entry, those of you who were with us for the 2002 TRGA Classic in Southern Pines, North Carolina will surely remember this place, the site of the Wednesday practice(?!?) round. That's the view from the first tee pictured below, and as those present will attest, this photo doesn't do it justice. It was much more intimidating in person. They needed to have someone standing in the fairway to give those mounds some scale.
